West Mountain Estates is one of Ridgefield’s most sought-after neighborhoods. The community boasts second generation families who grew up in the community and have returned to raise their children. Members have access to a private facility including pool, tennis court, soccer field, baseball field, playground, and more. Social events occur throughout the year including campouts, pool parties, food truck Fridays, holiday parties, and cornhole competitions. Each of the more than 150 homes reside on more than one acre of land.
By moving to West Mountain Estates, you will be joining a community of neighbors who are dedicated to work together in a voluntary association to achieve a higher quality of life and increase our property values. West Mountain Estates has about 150 homes in the foot of the Berkshire's. Sometimes called Eleven Levels (for the main road running through the sub-division), West Mountain Estates is very conveniently located on the west side of Ridgefield, close to town and near the New York border. The community’s proximity to New York, Stamford, Danbury and other business and financial hubs, via car or public transit, make Ridgefield appealing to professionals. Seven minute drive to center of town with easy commutes to NYC & MetroNorth (Golden's Bridge & Purdy's).
The original 160 acre estate was purchased by well-known Ridgefield homebuilder, Jerry Tuccio in 1959. Tuccio subdivided the property and began building homes in the mid 1970's and continued into the 1980's. Most West Mountain homes are all unique - from traditional New England colonials to ranch style homes to luxury homes.
The New York Times called Ridgefield "upscale Americana" for its charming town village and community. At the same time the Wall Street Journal profiled Ridgefield for its rich history and unique Main Street. And recently, Ridgefield was ranked the second safest city in the United States to live in.
