While you can look at the houses and the beautiful architecture from the outside as well as our soon to be remodeled facility, what you haven’t had a chance to do is to meet the people inside these home – our neighbors, our friends and our families.
As we celebrate our 40th anniversary of being a close-knit community, we are seeing many second-generation neighbors – children who grew up in West Mountain Estates and are returning to raise their children here.
West Mountain Estates has about 150 homes in the foot of the Berkshire's. Sometimes called Eleven Levels (for the main road running through the sub-division), West Mountain Estates is very conveniently located on the west side of Ridgefield, close to town and near the New York border. The community’s proximity to New York, Stamford, Danbury and other business and financial hubs, via car or public transit, make Ridgefield appealing to professionals.
The original 160 acre estate was purchased by well-known Ridgefield homebuilder, Jerry Tuccio in 1959. Tuccio subdivided the property and began building homes in the mid 1970's and continued into the 1980's. Most West Mountain homes are all unique - from traditional New England colonials to ranch style homes to luxury homes.
The New York Times called Ridgefield "upscale Americana" for its charming town village and community. At the same time the Wall Street Journal profiled Ridgefield for its rich history and unique Main Street. And recently, Ridgefield was ranked the second safest city in the United States to live in.
